The greatest gift that our Creator has given us is the Gift of Free Will. With that gift comes the opportunity to create our own realities in life, and to choose the paths we will walk. With that gift comes the extraordinary chance to create our own spiritual practices and pursue those things of the spirit that awaken and nurture the soul. Many of us feel disconnected from our Source, and disenfranchised from the religions or traditions of our birth, because we cannot relate to the image or "spin" on God that we have been taught. Or we feel that as much as we love our childhood Gods and religious beliefs, we crave for something else... something more... something in addition to that we already know.
The Feminine Divine has been largely deleted from our upbringing. Many of us have long sensed that there has been "something" missing from our lives, only to realize it was a God that looks like us and that we can relate to. We usually don't grasp that the emptiness we feel is our separation of the "other half" of God -- until we awaken to Her existence. It is just a vague sense of longing, until, one day, we discover that some people believe there is indeed a Goddess. Then we learn there are a million Goddesses throughout the world's traditions and mythologies and we wonder: "How could this be ignored, build over, hidden for so long?"
For some of us, the journey to true self discovery begins once we discover the truth that God is both feminine and masculine in nature. Embracing the male and female aspects of God gives us permission to embrace both sides of ourselves and others. Many people believe that, ultimately, it will be the saving grace of this planet.
Our Divine Parents Who Art In Heaven and Here On Earth
To embrace God as both masculine and feminine is the ultimate form of tolerence. Think about it: recognizing that God is, and that God embraces, All That Is, including He/She, is the only way we will ever create a world in which All people can worship and live as they choose. It is the only way to end the war between the sexes. It is the only way to be truly fair to 100 per cent of the people on this planet. It just makes sense.
If we restore The Mother, right alongside The Father, we will have the benefit of being able to turn to our Divine Parents for sustenance and spiritual aid. In addition, men and women will each be able to see their own divinity, and that of "other," reflected in their Divine Parents or in the image of Divine Partners. We will come to see our truest identities -- a God and Goddess in human form. Wouldn't that be something?
It Is Our Time To Grow ... and Grow Up
When many of us were kids we asked our parents, "Who is God?" Many of us got an answer like this: "God is a big man in the sky who rules our lives." Who can relate to that? Who feels nurtured by the idea of some old guy judging us and telling us how to live? How accurate is that image, anyway? Not very. It came from biblical interpretations of an angry God, and mythology about judgemental Gods who rule the world by constantly punishing humans. It left us with the idea that God is out to get us and that we had to spend our lives appeasing Him or we would be miserable.
Those concepts stole our power, and stiffled our belief in a good and gracios God. Many of us still grapple today with the ghosts of our childhood Gods. Some of us opt to have no concious connection to God because we found the interpretation of who and what God is so unreal and so uncool. The only way to liberate ourselves is to release those outdated ideas and look for God with new eyes and an open heart.
The Femine Face of God
We all come from mothers, so it would make sense to consider that we also come from The Mother. Ancient civilizations believed it. Research prooves it. History documents it. 2000 years ago the tune began to change, but we are in the stage of a great awakening. You do not have to leave behind your religion or your beliefs. All you have to do is consider that, just maybe, the Goddess is just as real as the God. Millions of people continue to worship Her today -- in temples, churches, in nature and at personal altars around the world.
Many people also carry Her in their hearts. We hope the pages of this website will serve to give a little bit of information, direction and hope to those who are seeking the "other half" of God. She awaits you!
