Look for her permanent, interactive Lakshmi Mandir at www.GoddessLakshmi.org in weeks to come.

The Goddess Lakshmi is the Hindu Goddess of Good Fortune and Beauty. In the Hindu religion and culture, and in other spiritual traditions that honor the Goddess, she is fully revered and adored as a divine female. Other's choose to see her as an aspect of the divine feminine... or as the personification of Good Fortune... or as a symbol of beauty and bounty of the earth.

Regardless of how you experience Lakshmi, her mission is the same: She comes to bring good things to life in your life. We at Our Mother's House love Lakshmi and we believe she will gladly help you fulfill your needs if you petition her lovingingly and respectfully.

Enjoy this temporary temple. May your time here inspire your relationship with Lakshmi and all that is fortunate and good!

Namste!

The Goddess Lakshmi was born, full grown, out of the milky sea. It is said that where Lakshmi dwells you will find beauty and good fortune.
It is the Hindu tradition to evoke the elephanted-headed God of Obstacles, Ganesh, before worshipping any other God. Lakshmi and Ganesh work side-by-side. To Evoke Ganesh, simply chant: "Om Ganesh ... Om Ganesh ... Om Ganesh."
The beautiful Goddess Lakshmi is often pictured on her Lotus throne. She has four arms. Her ability to enhance your good fortune in life is symbolized by the gold coins that you see pouring from her hand.
In the Hindu culture from which Lakshmi hails she is treated with great reverence and devotion. In the temples on the United States anyone can attend a Lakshmi puja -- a worship service. Prayers are uttered repeatedly during a Lakshmi worship service as foods and flowers are offered to the Goddess.Click here for a virtual Lakshmi Puja

Focusing on the Lakshmi Yantra is how some people connect with her energy. Meditate on the ancient Yantra symbol, and she may begin to speak to you. It is believed that those who pay attention to Lakshmi in any form are focusing on Good Fortune and hence drawing it into their lives.
The Lotus is sacred to the Goddess Lakshmi. She was born on the lotus and she is almost always always seen upon a lotus. Like all divine beings, her lotus feet never touch the earth, for she exists in a dimension far beyond the struggles and sadness we humans sometimes create. From where she sits, she can help guide us to greater material and spiritual fortune.
